Here's an on going project
Bought full bike with original equipment
Managed to save a lot of stuff thankfully
Needed to replace headset and bottom bracket. Cassette knackered too and saddle also
Have stripped and polished frame.
Hubs need servicing and re greasing that's next up
Just ordered some new cables then good to go

Now that's interesting, did you polish around the decals in order to keep the original ones?

Yes I wanted to keep the original decals so polished by hand
In fact I'm still polishing cost me a small fortune in autosol !
I'm going to finish off with aluminium polish
There was a lot of oxidisation on frame unfortunately
But it's getting there

These frames take hard work to buff and get back to something more like the original.

However the efforts are mostly fruitful and you've certainly started well.

I thought Pantera had a flat top tube end cap wotsit..

Nice bike.. I prefer older GT's but these are still way cool.

I had 2 of these '97 frames [cool] Then realised they were too big for me. [facepalm] I think the flat end cap ones are the earlier U'brake ones maybe?

I think that makes sense in regards to the cap.

Not sure, I thought it was still Taiwanese but made from 7005 instead of 6061, I thought only 6061 frames were USA made
6061 = Aluminum
7005 & everything else = Aluminium [rofl]
